I’ve been thinking about this quote a lot within the last 24 hours because it resonates so much with my story & the stories of so many of the most amazing people I’ve met along the way.
For me, it puts all of life’s mysterious happening into perspective in a positive light despite life’s not-so-positive moments.

I’ve been in major reflection mode since the start of the year and it amazes me how it makes TOTAL sense that I am where I am in my life, that I do what I do, that I love what I love and I believe what I believe.
It’s actually quite fascinating to think back to when I was a child and every experience I’ve had both awesome and challenging that have led me to where I am today.
Although I’ve experienced a number of years where I felt like I had absolutely no direction with so many moments where I felt so lost, alone, helpless and confused, it’s all truly come full circle in the best way possible.

I’m so grateful for each and every curve ball life has thrown my way because without them I wouldn’t be here preaching what I preach.
Without the hardships, without having my little sister in my life, without my parents divorce, without having explored the creative and performance side of me, without having moved away from my mother at age 13, without having experienced what it means to be a “minority”, without feeling like I had been taken advantage of & mistreated in both my fashion & blogging careers, without each and every one of my insecurities, without love and loss, without the amazing friendships & relationships I’ve established in recent years
I would not be the person I am fighting for what I fight for today…
and, I so happen to really love who I’ve become & the fact that I am such a passionate, compassionate, empathetic human being who genuinely wants the absolute best for this world (and for women, gosh darnit!).
I’ve learned to embrace it all & truly trust the Universe with the direction my life is headed in.
