I am bugging out right now–like, butterflies completely taking over my tummy & fluttering about 110mph.
The time has finally come to officially reveal and put out into the universe that APRIL 8TH, 2016 TST Collective aka MY VERY 1ST CLOTHING LINE in collaboration with Cut From The Same Cloth, will launch and be available FOR SALE exclusively via TheStyleTheory.com!
WHAT EVEN IS MY LIFE?!
In case you may have been wondering why the heck I launched a new site and have been a bit inconsistent with getting posts up, I’ve been prepping and planning for this very moment for nearly a year now. There’s still so much to do before the official launch date, but it’s the absolute best kind of busy and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Within the last 7 years, I truly began to discover my love of fashion and my passion for buying. I’ve known for the last 2 years that I wanted to take all of my fashion retail experience and begin the process of curating my very own online shop, but I had no idea how quickly the process would evolve and exactly how it would manifest–let alone beginning the journey with my very own capsule collection!
With a ton of encouragement and all of the knowledge I acquired thanks to Marie Forleo’s B-School, I became consumed with the idea of making my dreams a reality and making them a reality as soon as possible. You see, being the manager and buyer of a women’s boutique was a bit of a conflict of interest in my pursuits, but I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin if I didn’t push forward. I knew leaving my job wasn’t the brightest or most financially sound idea, but I continued to work on my business plan and I enrolled in several business and social media webinars where I met some of the most kick-ass female entrepreneurs along the way–one of them being Lauren Remesi, designer of fashion label Cut From The Same Cloth.
I was totally stalking Lauren’s Pom Pom Crop Top (lookie here & here!) and her insta account commenting on how obsessed I was with her absolutely darling, perfect-for-summer swiss dot top, when she was kind enough to send me one (I ended up buying another because it was my absolute favorite thing to wear! It’s the cutest thing, guys!). I feel in love with the quality of her clothing and truly appreciated the fact that all of her pieces are handmade in North Carolina, when, what I thought was a crazy idea popped into my head. “Would she be willing to work with me on creating my own clothing line?”
I remember sitting in front of the computer, typing up an e-mail introducing myself to Lauren and telling her a bit about my background and my story, feeling so confident that this could potentially work and be something great! After hitting send, all of those overly confident feelings evaporated and I was majorly freaking out.
“What if she says no?”, “How else can I make this happen?”, “Who do I think I am?”, “What am I even thinking?”, “Can this really work?”
Well, she said YES & we MADE it happen.
TST Collective’s SPRING/SUMMER ’16 “IN BLOOM” collection is designed with the intention of mixing and matching each piece to create several versatile looks, featuring feminine florals with edgy layering pieces that cater to the urban woman who live for an ensemble that easily transitions from “work to play.” All pieces in the collection are *Handmade in USA* by Lauren Remesi of CFSC .
10% off all TST Collective sales will be donated to YAI, an organization I hold close to my heart. YAI strives to empower and enhance the lives of thousands of people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families by creating new opportunities for living, loving, working and learning.
Now, if this announcement alone isn’t “pinch me” worthy, I’m partnering up with one of my all-time favorite skincare companies in an effort to get our hard-working NYC ladies head-to-toe ready for Spring!
