The stars have aligned in such a magical way the last few weeks that I can’t help but be filled with extreme joy! This post is from the heart.
Its incredible to recognize the growth that has occurred within me this last year, and even more so, in the last couple months. I’ve most certainly had my ups and downs, as we all do, but I am so proud of the fact that no matter what life threw my way, I never gave up on myself or my dream.
This is a tough industry to be in and a discouraging one at that, but this is more than just an outlet or a hobby for me–it’s a true passion that has manifested in the last couple of years, and I’m so happy to have found my place in this world. I’ve collaborated with companies I could only have dreamed of working with one short year ago and I’ve met some of the most important people that currently play a huge role in my life. These people have supported, nurtured and believed in me no matter what the numbers read and I can’t tell you all how much that means to me in a widely number praised business.
One of the companies I hold dear to my heart is Oasis (check out my holidays looks with them from 2014 here, here& here!). As I was making my way down to the offices of Style House PR to pick out some festive pieces, one of my greatest friends and photographer extraordinaire, Corinne Louie, texted me saying she had a concept she wanted to try out and shoot with me for the holidays. Talk about perfect timing! Pre-Louie-Pease holiday party, we shut off all the lights in her apartment, minus some fairy and Christmas tree lights, played the most hilarious holiday music (you guys would have absolutely no idea what was going on from these photos) and experienced one of the most awesome, fun shoots we’ve had to date and the photos you see are the result of a crazy/cool experiment! P.S. I just learned that Oasis’ current instagram campaign features the hashtag “#LightUpMyStreet“! How crazy & appropriate is that?!
Instead of hiding under layers of clothing, I’m learning to embrace my womanhood, fabulousness and confidence and it feels so liberating! I absolutely adore how feminine and party perfect this look is. From the rad, ultra-glamorous pink faux-fur coat (similar here), to this sexy deep-v sequin tank and super fun feather skirt (similar look here), I couldn’t help but feel fantastic! I enhanced my makeup by thickening my usual cat eye, layering on Stila’sHuge Extreme Lash Mascara for plush, voluminous lashes, and used rich brown shadows to deepen my eye makeup, but I think that J-Hill glow is totally stealing the spotlight. Becca x Jaclyn Hill’s Shimmering Skin Perfecterin Champagne Pop has become my best-friend. I mixed my favorite illuminator with a touch of Mary Kay’s Sheer Dimensions Powder in Pearl on top of Nars Blush in Sin, which left me beaming from the inside out!
I can’t thank everyone who has been by my side throughout my journey enough for continuously cheering me on! You make life all the more brighter, happier and so much more fun!
Special thanks to Style House PR + Oasis + Corinne Louie for contributing to this post.
